Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

A moist and flavorful banana bread filled with chocolate chips, perfect for breakfast, snacks, or dessert.

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed (about 1 1/2 cups)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional)
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan with butter or non-stick cooking spray.
  3. Mash the ripe bananas in a medium bowl until creamy.
  4. Add melted butter to the mashed bananas and mix well. Then add brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract, combining until smooth.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and optional cinnamon.
  6. Pour the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, folding gently until just combined.
  7. Fold in the chocolate chips evenly.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  9. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  10. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and serve.

Notes

Use ripe bananas for best flavor and moisture. Don’t overmix the batter to keep the bread light and fluffy.
