Cajun Chicken Sloppy Joes

A fun and flavorful twist on the classic Sloppy Joe with tender ground chicken and zesty Cajun seasoning.

  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 soft sandwich buns
  • Optional toppings: cheese, pickles, or coleslaw

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat a little oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and bell pepper, sauté for 3-5 minutes until softened.
  2. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute, stirring often.
  3. Add the ground chicken and Cajun seasoning, cook until chicken is browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Pour in tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and brown sugar. Season with salt and pepper to taste, mix well, and let simmer for 5-10 minutes.
  5. While the mixture simmers, lightly toast the sandwich buns.
  6. Spoon the Cajun chicken mixture onto the toasted buns and add optional toppings as desired. Serve hot and enjoy!
