A delightful one-pan meal that combines tender beef, bowtie pasta, and a rich cheese sauce, perfect for busy weeknights and family gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz (340g) bowtie pasta (farfalle)
  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 cup (240ml) milk (whole or 2%)
  • 1 cup (100g) shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup (50g) grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Boil a large pot of salted water, add bowtie pasta, and cook until al dente (8-10 minutes). Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onions and sauté until translucent (2-3 minutes). Add garlic and cook for 1 minute.
  3. Add ground beef to the skillet, cook until browned (5-7 minutes). Drain excess fat and season with Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper.
  4. In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat, add remaining garlic and sauté for 1 minute. Sprinkle in flour and whisk for 1 minute. Gradually pour in milk while whisking until smooth. Let it simmer until thickened.
  5. Lower heat, stir in mozzarella and Parmesan cheese until melted. Add drained pasta and beef mixture, tossing to combine. Adjust seasoning as necessary.
  6. Serve warm, garnished with fresh parsley. Enjoy with salad or garlic bread.
