Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb shredded beef (slow-cooked or roast leftovers)
  • 8 slices of thick white bread
  • 4 slices of provolone or mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix together the softened butter, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, and garlic powder until smooth to create the spread.
  2. Generously butter one side of each slice of bread with the spread.
  3. Assemble the sandwiches by layering shredded beef and cheese on the buttered side of four slices of bread, then top with the remaining buttered slices.
  4. Heat a skillet over medium heat, and cook the sandwiches for 3-4 minutes on each side until the bread is golden brown and the cheese has melted.
  5. Remove from skillet, cool slightly, cut in half if desired, and garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
