Chicken with Buttered Noodles

A classic dish that combines tender chicken with buttery noodles, perfect for busy weeknights or family gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb chicken breasts or thighs – cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 12 oz egg noodles
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional)
  • 1 lemon – cut into wedges (optional)

Instructions

  1. Boil the noodles in a large pot of salted water according to the package instructions, usually around 7-9 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. Season the cut chicken pieces with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the chicken for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
  3. In the same skillet, reduce heat to low and melt the unsalted butter. Add the drained noodles, toss to coat, and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
  4. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet with the noodles, stir to combine. Garnish with parsley if desired. Serve hot with lemon wedges on the side.

Notes

For a creamier sauce, add a splash of heavy cream or use a creamy Alfredo sauce instead of the butter and cheese.
