Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Twists

Delightful dessert combining chocolate chip cookies and pastry for a fun treat.

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • ½ cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate)
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon chopped nuts (like pecans or almonds)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the thawed puff pastry to about 1/8-inch thick on a floured surface.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine melted butter, brown sugar, and vanilla extract; mix well and fold in chocolate chips and optional nuts.
  4. Cut the puff pastry into 3×4 inch rectangles.
  5. Place a spoonful of the filling in the center of each rectangle.
  6. Fold the pastry over the filling and seal the edges.
  7. Twist each pocket to form spirals.
  8. Place them on a lined baking sheet and brush with beaten egg.
  9. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Allow to cool and dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Keep puff pastry cold for better puffing while baking. Experiment with different fillings for variety.
