Chocolate Chip Cookies

A classic recipe for soft and chewy chocolate chip cookies that bring comfort and joy to any occasion.

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda, and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, use a mixer to cream together the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt until smooth.
  4. Add the vanilla extract and eggs to the butter mixture, and beat until combined.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture and mix until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes until edges are golden brown.
  9. Cool the cookies on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

For best results, ensure ingredients are at room temperature before mixing and avoid overmixing the dough.
