Homemade Crazy Chicken

A delightful chicken dish marinated in a zesty mixture of lime and orange juices, grilled to perfection for a smoky flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken thighs (or breasts)
  • 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
  • 1/4 cup fresh orange juice
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: chopped cilantro and lime wedges for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together lime juice, orange juice, olive oil, minced garlic, smoked paprika, ground cumin, chili powder, dried oregano, salt, and pepper to create the marinade.
  2. Place the chicken in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over, ensuring it is well-coated. Seal or cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, ideally overnight.
  3. Preheat the grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  4. Remove chicken from marinade, letting excess drip off, and grill for about 5–7 minutes on each side until cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F or 75°C).
  5. Remove from grill and let rest for a few minutes before serving.
  6. Garnish with chopped cilantro and lime wedges if desired, and serve with preferred sides.

Notes

For best flavor, marinate the chicken overnight. Use fresh ingredients for optimal taste.
