Savor the tastes of Korean barbecue in a satisfying bowl of marinated steak over rice with vibrant vegetables.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb beef steak (such as flank or sirloin)
  • 2 cups cooked rice (white or brown)
  • 1 cup mixed vegetables (like bell peppers, carrots, and broccoli)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon ginger (grated)
  • 2 green onions (sliced)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Marinade: In a medium-sized bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger.
  2. Marinate the Beef: Place the beef in the marinade, ensuring it is well coated. Cover and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Cook the Beef: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat, remove beef from marinade, and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side to desired doneness. Let rest for 5 minutes, then slice against the grain.
  4. Stir-Fry Mixed Vegetables: In the same skillet, cook mixed vegetables for 3-4 minutes until tender yet crisp.
  5. Assemble the Bowls: Start with cooked rice in bowls, top with sliced beef and stir-fried vegetables. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

For more flavor, marinate the beef for several hours or overnight. Serve with extra toppings like Kimchi if desired.
