Monte Cristo French Toast Casserole

A delightful casserole combining sweet and savory elements of classic French toast with meats and cheese, perfect for breakfast or brunch.

  • 1 loaf of French bread, cubed
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup honey ham, diced
  • 1 cup turkey, diced
  • 1 cup Swiss cheese, shredded
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon until smooth.
  4. Layer cubed French bread evenly in the greased baking dish.
  5. Pour the egg mixture over the bread, ensuring each piece is soaked.
  6. Distribute diced honey ham, turkey, and shredded Swiss cheese over the bread.
  7. Mix melted butter and brown sugar, then drizzle over the casserole.
  8. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes, then remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
