Old-Fashioned Peach Cobbler

A delightful, nostalgic dessert featuring sweet ripe peaches and a buttery golden crust, perfect for summer gatherings.

  • 4 cups fresh peaches, sliced
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, add sliced peaches and sprinkle with 1 cup of sugar, lemon juice, and ground cinnamon; stir until well coated.
  3. In another bowl, combine flour, milk, melted butter, baking powder, and salt; whisk until smooth.
  4. Pour the batter into a greased baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  5. Spoon the peach mixture over the top of the batter without mixing.
  6. Bake for 40-45 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
  7. Let cool slightly before serving warm, preferably with vanilla ice cream.

Notes

For best results, use fresh, ripe peaches. Adjust sugar based on the sweetness of the peaches. You can add oats or nuts on top for added texture.
