Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich

A classic Philly cheesesteak sandwich featuring tender ribeye steak, sautéed peppers and onions, and gooey provolone cheese, all nestled in a toasted hoagie roll.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ribeye steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 6 slices provolone cheese
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and add onion and bell peppers. Sauté for 5-7 minutes until tender.
  2. Push the veggies to one side, add the sliced ribeye steak to the other side of the skillet, and cook for 3-4 minutes until browned.
  3. Mix the steak with the veggies and stir until well combined and heated through.
  4. Slice hoagie rolls lengthwise and spread butter on the insides. Toast the rolls butter-side down until golden.
  5. Assemble the sandwiches by placing the steak and veggie mixture in each roll and topping with provolone cheese. Serve hot.
