Slow-Cooked Beef in Onion Sauce

A hearty and comforting dish made with tender beef and a rich onion and mushroom sauce, perfect for busy families.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds of stewing beef, trimmed and cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 packet of onion soup mix (approx. 1 oz.)
  • 1 can (10.5 oz.) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the beef by trimming excess fat and cutting it into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Mix together the onion soup mix, cream of mushroom soup, flour, water, Worcestershire sauce, and black pepper until smooth.
  3. Place the beef in the slow cooker and pour the sauce over it, mixing gently.
  4. Set the slow cooker to low for 6 to 8 hours or high for 3 to 4 hours.
  5. After cooking, serve hot over mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles, paired with steamed vegetables or bread if desired.

Notes

Allow leftovers to cool before storing in airtight containers. Can be refrigerated for 3-4 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
