  • 1 lb ground beef or Italian sausage
  • 24 oz marinara sauce
  • 15 oz diced tomatoes
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Brown the Meat: Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef or Italian sausage and cook until browned. Drain excess fat and set aside.
  2. Combine the Base Ingredients: In the slow cooker, add the browned meat, marinara sauce, and drained diced tomatoes. Stir well.
  3. Add the Tortellini and Seasonings: Add cheese tortellini, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix to combine.
  4. Pour in the Cream: Add heavy cream and stir to coat the tortellini and meat.
  5. Cook on Low: Cover and cook on low for 4 to 6 hours or on high for 2 to 3 hours.
  6. Add the Cheese: 30 minutes before serving, sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over the top and stir gently to combine.
  7. Serve and Garnish: Stir the tortellini before serving and garnish with fresh basil or parsley if desired.
