Vanilla Pecan Pralines

A delightful treat combining butter, sugar, and pecans with sweet vanilla notes, perfect for gifting or satisfying your sweet tooth.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 7 oz evaporated milk
  • 1/4 cup butter, cubed
  • 1 package (11 oz) vanilla or white chocolate chips
  • 4 oz marshmallow crème
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Prepare your workspace by laying out two sheets of waxed paper on a flat surface.
  2. In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine granulated sugar, evaporated milk, and cubed butter. Stir constantly over medium-low heat until it comes to a gentle boil.
  3. Once boiling, maintain a low boil for about 8 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla chips and marshmallow crème until smooth.
  5. Fold in the vanilla extract and chopped pecans.
  6. Allow the mixture to cool for 2-3 minutes to thicken slightly.
  7. Drop tablespoon-sized portions onto the prepared waxed paper.
  8. Let the pralines cool completely at room temperature, about an hour.
  9. Store in an airtight container, layering with waxed paper to prevent sticking.

Notes

Using a heavy-bottomed pan and maintaining the boil for the full 8 minutes is crucial for the right texture.
